Barb, Abby and I watched Hotel Rwanda last night. Well done movie.
The only shortcoming was the inability within a commercial movie to really portray the massacre. I represent a man from the Congo who has political refugee status in the U.S. He forged a passport to get his sister out of Congo. Women are raped and murdered in the Congo on a regular basis by the "soldiers" of both the rebels and the government. In getting to know him, we discussed the carnage in depth; it is incredible. In any event, we should count our blessings that in this country the government keeps the animals under some control.

P.S. Colin. No, animals does not refer to blacks. It refers to men of all colors.

John, I appreciate your P.S. to Colin, Remember to discuss this subject with your 2 beautiful daughters, Love Mom
ReplyDeleteDidn't portray the masacre?! Were we watching the same movie? I suppose you fell asleep for the scene where Don Cheadle's character had to drive down the road covered in dead bodies...
ReplyDeleteafter you have talked to a real witness, as have I, you've seen nothing of the carnage
